Wireless Network Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities As a wireless networking specialist in IBM’s next-gen network and edge computing practice you will be responsible for the deployment of next-generation cellular wireless technology in the enterprise, leading implementation projects for key industries, including manufacturing, retail and distribution.

Cellular wireless technology is at another inflection point, with 5G and the introduction of new frequency bands expected to dominate infrastructure investments in public and private connectivity infrastructure.

Edge computing, automated manufacturing, robotic warehouses, connected automobiles, etc.

are examples of use cases that IBM clients are seeking to implement.

NOTE: Location is flexible e.g.

anywhere in Canada Responsibilities You will implement large scale network projects that include next-generation wireless technology (LTE/5G).

Assist in wireless network implementation activities from site surveys to the detailed architectural specification of a solution.

Understand client requirements and work with the lead architect to develop innovative solutions to address them Explore novel approaches to system integration with existing networking technologies.

Create repeatable processes and artifacts that will be used at scale to design and implement next-gen wireless networks.

Work with Engineering teams to define detailed solutioning methodologies as well as providing expertise and guidance.

Interface with customers on all technical matters of lab trials, testing and deployments.

Engage with customers in explaining technical details of our offerings and propose solutions for customer specific requirements.

Work with cross functional teams (network, cloud, software, compute) to ensure integration requirements and meet customer acceptance criteria.

Propose new, creative solutions for complex, system-wide problems.

Outcomes: Implement secure and compliant infrastructure solutions.

Technical Experience: LTE/5G Cisco Aruba Juniper Mist DNA Center Experienced Wi-Fi professional (Design, Deployment, Troubleshooting, Assessment) Experience with different vertical markets Experience with different Wi-Fi vendor’s equipment Experience with different Wi-Fi tools Skillful hands-on work, including the ability to mount and cable 5g and wireless products (antennas, controllers, cables, etc).

Be able to: Deploy Cisco catalyst 9800 series wireless controllers and/or previous wireless solution from Cisco deploy Cisco Prime deploy Cisco Identity service engine (ISE) deploy Cisco DNA Center in monitoring mode for cisco wireless perform on-site wireless surveys with Airmagnet perform predictive site surveys with AirMagnet perform exit survey with AirMagnet define site survey criteria to meet customer needs based on best practice Education Requirements: University graduated in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics & Electricals or any other related field.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise L2 Security Clearance Fluency in French and English At least one wireless networking certification at a professional level (e.g., CWNP, CCNP Wireless, Aruba Certified Professional, etc.) Familiarity with 3GPP 5G NR Release 16.

Familiarity with the Nokia NDAC or Samsung 5G platform 10 years of experience in designing/deploying/documenting wireless enterprise networking solutions.

10 years of experience in technical consulting and project leadership, including a proven ability to define and shape winning solutions for clients 5 years of experience leading teams of other technical subject matter experts and architects Experience in deploying large-scale wireless systems Experience with system level testing and performance evaluation of wireless systems and familiarity with related tools.

Experience working in multiple industries.

Demonstrated competency and knowledge of the Python programming language.

Experience in shell scripting and network automation platforms such as Ansible, AWX, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, or others.

Demonstrated competency and knowledge of Linux operating systems such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, or others; containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes; and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and KVM.

Familiarity with network security, Dev-Ops, Dev-Sec-Ops, Dev-Net-Ops.

GTSCA2021 Required Technical and Professional Expertise Canadian Security L2 Clearance ELIGIBLE University graduated in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics & Electrical or any other related field.
