We are looking for a detail oriented professional with solid Digital Content Management and Web Development skills to join our SUDBURY studio team on a freelance basis.

This is a 2 to 3 month contract with the potential to evolve into a full-time opportunity.

Supported by our talented creative team, you will play a lead role in developing our client’s website using their content management platform, Brightspot CMS. While this may be your first time using this platform, we expect your previous CMS experience will enable you to quickly get comfortable with this new toolset.

We are looking for someone with intuition and design aptitude, who has a sixth sense when it comes to user experience. You must be skilled at managing and laying out supplied digital assets and content that speaks to different audiences, differentiates stakeholder perspectives and simplifies the complicated.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

You will work remotely with our Toronto-based Talent Strategist and Project Manager, to collaborate on our client’s requirements and adapt them to align with the existing digital content infrastructure. While you will be provided with some direction, we will rely on your experience and judgement to extrapolate the desired results.

Your work will include:

  • Leveraging your previous CMS experience to familiarize yourself with the Brightspot platform
  • Consume, decipher and organize different inputs and transform them into content hierarchy and navigation that is consistent with the client’s digital content direction
  • Participating in design reviews with key stakeholders and demonstrating your ability to understand and communicate with clear instructions
  • Develop and deploy the website through the Brightspot console
  • Lead or participate confidently with a comfort to communicate ideas, participating in team discussions and aligning team members with different perspectives
  • Present work in progress; interact with our team and the clients to receive feedback and work to move the project forward.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

You are a detail-oriented, strategically focused and flexible Digital Content Manager, with a high degree of technical aptitude, learning agility and experience in working with a variety of assets and formats.

Additionally, you have:

  • A minimum of 3 years Digital Content Management experience
  • Previous experience with a variety of Content Management platforms (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)
  • At least 3 years of front-end website design experience, with a strong focus on user experience
  • Expertise in usability standards based on a strong knowledge of industry best practices
  • A firm grasp of SEO principles, metadata, WCAG and AODA (or equivalent) standards.
  • The ability to work independently, with excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources Communications, Internal Communications (client side) and/or demonstrated B2B experience is desired.
  • Other “nice to haves” include knowledge of and expertise with Adobe suite of tools (illustrator, Photoshop), familiarity with HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript.
