For more information, visitwww.Telesat.ComSection 3: PURPOSE OF JOBBe a lead technical authority for LEO Landing Station data path solutionsProvide technical expertise in the development, deployment, validation and operation of equipment and software that processes high throughput layer 2 data streamsManage technical relationships with suppliers; Planning, support and execution of end-to-end production network and lab validation tests Section 4: MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and maintain technical requirements for Telesat LEO Constellation LandingStation data path equipment and softwareDevelop RFPs and Statements of Work for development and supply of the LEOLanding Station data path solutionIdentify technical compliance testing and product assurance requirementsMonitor technical compliance and quality of product produced by suppliersRecommend and contribute to improvements to LEO system as a whole SECTION 5: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDB.Eng., Masters or Ph.D.

software or network engineeringMinimum of 5 years’ experience in networking softwareSpecialized Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesSolid understanding of DPDK, VPP, XDP, eBPFSolid knowledge in CPU architectures (memory BUS, PCI bus, L1/L2/L3 cache) including Intel processors or ARM and in virtualization environmentsStrong coding experience in C, C++ for embedded/real-time applicationsStrong multithreading and performance-oriented programming skillsKnowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, including application layer, firewalls (Linux iptables), IPsec, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MPLS and MEFExperience using testing equipment and simulatorsExperience developing procurement requirementsExperience developing and executing acceptance testing plans and proceduresSolid knowledge of ISOC and IETF standardsKnowledge of network communications over satelliteFamiliar with modern network control and management protocolsFamiliar with cybersecurity principals and best practicesExcellent communicatorAbility to summarize complex problems, solutions and recommendationsFluent in English, written and oral SECTION 6: DECISION MAKING & SUPERVISION:Develops and recommends solutions related to design, testing, acceptance and operation of feeder link modems; Make decisions about task priorities as required as a project technical lead.Supervision ExercisedThere is no direct reporting staff but this role may be expected to lead multidisciplinary project teams and/or provide technical assistance or guidance to other engineers or specialists SECTION 7: WORKING CONDITIONS:Majority of the time is expected to be in a generally comfortable office environmentOccasional work in a light industrial environment, including outdoorsTravel, support of projects across multiple time zones and other project requirements may require overtimeOccasional international travel may be required; therefore, candidates will need to provide proof that they have no national/international travel or visa restrictions The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
