– this is the role you’ve been waiting for The Data Insights & Analytics team at Loblaw is seeking a Technical Lead, Software Engineering.

Reporting to the Director, Software Engineering, y ou’ll shepherd projects from design to execution, removing roadblocks, providing perspective, and taking ownership of driving the project to completion.

This will include working closely with designers, architects, product owners, and project managers.

What You’ll Do Co-ordinate with enterprise architects to design software systems that meet production standards.

Build technical tasks that can be picked up and delivered by engineers of varying experience.

Provide direction on the structure of solutions and patterns used to build software.

Help untangle complicated technical problems and unblock colleagues.

Mentor junior engineers to help them deepen their capability, speed of delivery and quality of code.

Communicate project status and issues in a concise and accurate manner to project managers.

Provide insight into new technologies that can be leveraged to improve the quality and efficiency of software delivery.

Navigate complex problem spaces, bringing clarity and concise representations of the multitude of factors involved.

Participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning and standups.

You have 5-7 years of experience in a technical leader role and you’re looking for a new challenge.

You’re always looking to support your team, deliver projects and explore new technology.

You have a desire to tackle tough challenges head on and find solutions that align with core business goals.

Not one to rest on your laurels, you actively seek out things outside your comfort zone.

What You’ll Need Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science required.

Excellent understanding of the agile principles and methodologies.

Experience in the retail industry.

Familiarity with GCP building web applications that are scalable and secure.

Deep understanding of react, typescript, nodejs and other front-end frameworks Expertise in working with SQL and document based data stores Experience in securing services via JWT tokens and mTLS Rigor in testing discipline, knowing what tests should be written and in what quantity.

Strong inter-personal skills including ability to work in a cross-functional environment Demonstrated ability to drive to clear action and ownership amongst large development teams.

Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment.
