BlackBerry is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and maintain code with an emphasis on tangible results. You'll be joining our Spark Engineering cyber security team and working on microservices supporting threat detection and remediation. Working with leading industry experts using the latest technologies you will have the chance to be challenged and to make your mark on a truly exciting journey.


  • Develop within an end-to-end eco-system, working on global scale server side RESTful APIs using Java and front-end UI pages using React/Redux
  • Support and maintain developed code, automation tests, and configuration in multiple platforms
  • Be a strong team player and work well within a diverse, cross-functional team


  • Experience using Java to develop server applications or RESTful APIs
  • Passion for learning new technologies and languages to support a growing business
  • Well versed in source control, unit testing, agile development methodologies
  • Ability to describe technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision
  • Understand concepts of loose coupling when designing and developing software systems


  • Experience with authentication schemes, such as Token, OAuth
  • Experience with Kubernetes and AWS
  • Experience with Linux
