SSIS/SSRS Developer

This is a Contract position in Edmonton, AB posted January 18, 2023.

Position Description:

The SSIS/SSRS developer is a superb opportunity to join our CGI-Edmonton team providing leading information technology services to our clients. Our BI Analysts are involved with the design, development, and support of business intelligence solutions.

As a successful candidate, you will use your creative skills to transform business challenges into both scheduled and self-serve solutions and use your data analysis, modeling, metadata management, and data quality skills to design, build, test, and implement business-facing solutions such as reports, dashboards, cubes, and scorecards.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work closely with key clients to understand business requirements and architecture.
• Analyze and profile data and system integrations, create data cleansing and enrichment scripts
• Implement ETL solutions for data migration and data warehousing.
• Designing and building data warehouse constructs such as star schemas, data pipelines, data marts, scheduled reports, cubes, dashboards, and metadata repositories
• Defining and executing thorough test plans
• Providing work plans and accurate estimates

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• 2+ years related IT experience designing and developing solutions for data migration and data warehouses
• 2+ years using Microsoft SQL Server Report Services (SSRS) and/ or PowerBI
• Thoroughly versed in data warehouse concepts and SDLC
• Experience in data architecture, data management, and MDM concepts. Desirable to have experience in designing data pipelines, star schemas, data marts, and cubes
• Meticulous with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and an ability to work in a team setting
• Ability to clearly and concisely articulate issues, approaches, and solutions. Proven client interaction and consulting skills.

Desirable (nice to have):
• Knowledge and experience applying DMBOK.
• Detailed knowledge of SQL Server 2016 and SQL Server Visual Studio
• Oracle SQL Development
• Azure data platform
• Certification in data management (e.g. CDMP, CBIP)

Required Level of Education:
The ideal candidate should possess a university degree or college diploma in Computer Science.
