Senior Monitoring Analyst, SRE Operations

The Monitoring Analyst will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of everything telemetry related to all supply chain systems. Our focus is on ensuring that interruptions in supply chain operations are being detected in a timely matter and that our support teams are notified to remediate. We utilize various technologies and are genuinely passionate about monitoring and understanding the power it holds. What you’ll do

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Technology Delivery, the Monitoring Analyst will be responsible for ensuring supply chain data is flowing correctly and efficiently. He/she play a critical role in ensuring supply chain telemetry is working and up to date, as well as working with various teams in developing solutions to meet monitoring needs.

This role is also an active participant in all aspects of Site Reliability Engineering, including technical vision, telemetry and observation decisions, automation strategy, framework development, solution delivery, incident, and problem management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, configuring, & tuning: events, logs, metrics, & traces. Constant gap analysis from production incidents; required tuning identified & implemented
  • Setup, maintenance, and optimization of data collection to various monitoring tools. Data sources will be from multiple systems including on-prem, off-prem, SaaS within various platform types.
  • Dashboard development to display all metrics & monitoring data. Ensure it maintains functionality, programmability, & observability
  • Collaborate with admins and L3 developers to prioritize problem root cause analysis and fixes based on incident and error analysis to achieve highly reliable infrastructure, systems, and integrations.
  • Improve problem identification and service restoration of the Supply Chain Technology platforms by leading and overseeing efforts to define, enhance and deliver fully automated telemetry, observation, & applied intelligence systems.
  • Analysis for new services (in the production or design stage) to align with industry best practices & CTC monitoring framework. Provide recommendations on how to align
  • Participate and contribute to CTC’s Supply Chain SRE Operations roadmap, including being a SME for other groups looking to set up telemetry

What you bring

  • Strong technical & analytical skills in troubleshooting and correlating information. Previous developer/application or system administrator experience
  • Experience with monitoring, logging & telemetry tools like New Relic, Sumologic, Grafana, Splunk, and Azure Monitor
  • SRE experience working with telemetry, observation, self-healing solutions, and automation.
  • Excellent ability to liaise with business users, IT personnel, and vendors gathering requirements and delivering solutions
  • Always questions the status quo and looks for ways to work more effectively

Skills

  • Experience with SQL or SQL server/database management
  • Experience creating, collecting, tuning & responding to all things monitoring: alerts, events, metrics, & tracing
  • Experience using APM including New Relic, Grafana, Datadog, Sumologic
  • Infrastructure experience including networking, DNS, virtualization, containers, & various OS (Linux, AIX, Windows)
  • Experience supporting back-end or front-end infrastructures in a complex production environment
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • PowerBI, Tableau & other BI tools is an asset
  • Experience with Collaboration & Change Management tools: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow is an asset
  • Python & other automation languages & experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture & system integrations
  • Knowledge of Retail Business/Supply Chain is an asset
