Sr. software engineer security


This is a Full-time position in Quebec, QC posted September 11, 2019.

Rakuten Ready (formerly Curbside) is looking for an experienced software engineer to own the policy and implementation of the technical aspects of security across our company.

In this role you will work closely with other members of the infrastructure and application engineering teams to build security into the system from the ground up while fostering an environment that promotes engineering productivity.

Our core product is a multi-tenant platform-as-a-service for merchants, retailers and their customers, and with that come some rare challenges in identity management and data privacy that you will address.

In addition, there are the common security needs in developing software in the cloud, including penetration and infiltration testing, monitoring and alerting on potential problems, working across teams to improve the company’s security posture and practices, and quantifying and communicating risks so that leadership can make informed choices.

Requirements: 5+ years of professional functional or object-oriented programming experience Experience implementing OAuth2 and OpenID Connect authorization services, clients and/or resource servers Understanding of cryptographic standards and their application Experience correctly using various cryptography systems, libraries and utilities (e.g.

public-key cryptography, Bouncy Castle, OpenSSL, GPG) Knowledge of PCI DSS, GDPR or similar security and privacy standards Understanding of the psychology of security, fear and risk Experience defining and maintaining monitors and alerts on systems with different uses and workloads Expertise with one or more of the major cloud computing providers (AWS, Google, Azure) Understanding of web browser security and threats present in HTTP / Javascript / REST APIs Qualifications: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Thorough grounding in software design principles and their application in real-world systems Ability to express oneself clearly in both writing and code Preferred Qualifications: Experience automating security auditing and compliance Experience managing paid bug bounty programs Experience with network security architecture and segmentation 2+ years working with Spring, Spring Boot or Spring Security Professional experience working with a functional language such as Clojure, Scala, Haskell or Erlang
