SQL programmer


This is a Full-time position in Candiac, QC posted February 12, 2020.

The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets.

The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

Reporting to the Director M.E.S.

(Manufacturing Execution System) and in collaboration with the Operational Effectiveness team located at our Candiac Head Office, the SQL Programmer will be part of the M.E.S.

team and will perform the following functions:Participate in the development of reports and analysis tools through Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services and Power BI (KPIs)Ensure the improvement and support of in-house applications related to M.E.S.Act as an expert in the M.E.S.

system (GE Proficy Plant Applications/Historian)Perform configuration and content creation in the production tracking system Operational Excellence Deliver what is expected on time and within the budget Manage projects under his/her responsibility Ensure the continuity of gains related to the mandate Maximize a synergy of resources (internal/external) Make recommendations and identify opportunities for improvement in his/her field Ensure compliance with standardized best practices (SLA, mandate acceptance, project management processes, etc.) in all his/her unit’s areas of activity Education and Desired experience The SQL Programmer should have the following prerequisites:Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation or Other Related Fields or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Business Intelligence or Other Related FieldsMinimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience;Strong analytical and problem solving skills;Autonomy, self-taught, rigour, initiative and team spirit;Bilingualism is mandatory.

Technical competencies The SQL Programmer shall have the following skills:Excellent knowledge of programming, databases, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), as well as Microsoft .Net and Web applications;Good knowledge of computer networks;Good knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) an asset;Knowledge of Windows Server, AS400 (IBM iSeries), VMware, Citrix is an asset;Knowledge of GE Proficy suite (Historian, Plant Apps, Workflow) is an asset.
