Solution Lead Power Platform


This is a Contract position in Valcourt, QC posted November 4, 2021.

BRP is looking for a Power Platform Expert  to work with business stakeholders, developers, analysts and Cloud specialists to guide and advise the analysts and developers of business solutions in order to leverage the entire technology stack of the Power Platform. The Power Platform Expert will need to have expertise with Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power Automate, Dynamics 365, Power BI, Flow, custom development and data integration techniques to deliver optimal solutions. He/she will work with a team of Analysts, Full Stack Developers, Architects and Data Integration specialists.

In conjunction with the Solution Manager IS&T, the role aims to optimize the applications in order to bring the most value to BRP, recommending enhancements to take advantage of the current and future functionalities of the Power Platform services. The Solution Lead needs to have a thorough technical and functional knowledge of all the applications under his (her) responsibility.

Part of a new team, this role will have the opportunity to lead and collaborate with other stakeholders to guide the design, to lead, plan, and maintain software components for the Power Platform applications. Accountable for the operation and support of the company's Power Platform applications, this person will support the Power Platform services, the configuration including deployment scripts, system/service management and maintaining the overall quality/stability of the services. This person will also be expected to assist and contribute in setting proper standards, policies, and procedures for the IT area, particularly those related to IoT development and maintenance.

This position is a stakeholder facing role, and requires establishing and managing expectations within the business and collaborating with the various process owners  to achieve a high level of satisfaction in the services.



  • Architect optimal solutions to address business problems that are reliable, scalable and maintainable using the Microsoft Power Platform, Office 365 and Azure cloud platforms; if necessary.
  • Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain solutions based on the Microsoft Power Platform, Office 365 and Azure cloud platforms; if necessary.
  • Steward and evangelize the Microsoft Power Platform and accompanying technologies across the organization.
  • Stay up to date with latest trends and innovations within the Microsoft Power Platform and broader cloud platforms; Office 365 and Azure.
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to understand challenges and business requirements.
  • Help to implement and lead the Azure Center of Excellence 
  • Advance current Microsoft Power Platform footprint and adoption within the organization.
  • Ensure communication and feedback loop is maintained for newly implemented or enhanced solutions in order to provide good customer service and incentivize new ideas from the business.
  • Understand business requirements, translate them into designs, lead and take part in proof-of-concept prototypes and final deliverables
  • Recommend practices to improve consistency, quality, and development efficiency
  • Document best practices and references in developing and deploying solutions
  • Integrate and maintain code quality analysis tools
  • Ensure platform maintenance
  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure and Security teams to implement best practices
  • Evaluating system component/configurations to ensure they are tuned and in working order ensuring the health and performance of the services 
  • Recommend measurements to monitor, tune and improve the Power Platform applications
  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting exercises (improvements, maintenance and licenses of applications of the Power Platform applications)



  • Bachelor's  degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of IS&T application delivery and support experience
  • Experience as a Software Developer with strong understanding of software architectures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Expertise with the Microsoft Power Platform and accompanying technologies, such as:
  • Power Apps; both Model Driven and Canvas
  • Power BI
  • Power Automate/Flow
  • Dynamics 365 Sales; experience with customizations
  • Expertise with or working knowledge of Office 365 and Azure cloud platforms
  • Expertise with or working knowledge of Data Integration techniques and tooling within the Microsoft cloud ecosystem such as:
  • Azure Logic Apps
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Event Hubs
  • Azure Stream Analytics
  • Power BI Data Flows
  • Power Query
  • Working knowledge of custom development to extend the Microsoft Power Platform technologies using .NET/C#
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server/T-SQL; preferably Azure SQL Database
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as JavaScript and ASP.NET
