Software Engineer II

Collins Aerospace

This is a Contract position in Vancouver, BC posted January 11, 2022.

This position is for a level II Software Engineer for the Commercial Systems Data Link Products team.

The Data Link Products consist software/hardware onboard an aircraft to utilize digital communications between the air and ground to help reduce voice communications and provide real time information on the operation of the aircraft.

The selected candidate must be a self-starter, have excellent problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills, be highly motivated, take initiative and be able to excel in a high performance work team environment.

Position is located on site in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Relocation is available.

Primary Responsibilities: Design, code, test, and provide ongoing support for embedded systems software to meet technical and customer requirements Design and code based on low-level software requirements Build, test and deliver real-time embedded software to target environments in support of program and customer commitments Assist with system level testing, working closely with cross functional areas to coordinate desired solutions, documenting problem reports and working resolution activities Participate in Design and Code Reviews with other members of the team to identify and eliminate problems early in the development process.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required C / C++ / Object Oriented software development experience Python/Perl Scripting Language knowledge Network protocol knowledge and Real Time Operating System knowledge is a plus.
