This is a Full-time position in Richmond, QC posted December 1, 2019.

Wenco International Mining Systems (, a subsidiary of Hitachi, is a software development and technology company that provides a series of technology product lines related to optimization and improvement of mines and material movers worldwide.

Some of our products include: GPS-based fleet management systems Collision avoidance safety systems Asset Health and predictive maintenance Optimized Smart Dispatch Autonomous trucks and specialized automation Analytics and BI As Wenco continues to build the next generation of technology, we need a wide range of professionals to help us achieve our objectives.

As a result of our rapid growth, we are currently looking for 7 (seven) full-time Software Engineers to join our head office in Richmond BC.

Reporting to the Research & Development Manager, Software Engineers will work in an Agile environment to design and implement various applications, taking advantage of real time processing, web services, and graphic intensive mapping and engineering dispatch applications.

These openings specifically are to join SCRUM teams working on either our Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) or a large global-scale IOT system (Readyline).

Key Deliverables: Analyze, modify, write and implement software code related to the creation or maintenance of software applications and services Create software requirement documentation, software design analysis and implementation Write and debug more complex code Analyze code and application execution for optimization and performance tuning Produce accurate software implementation estimates and delivers upon agreed schedule Provide input for the development and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIRED: Experience, Knowledge & Requirements Degree in Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a Diploma in an Engineering or Computing Technology with relevant industrial experience Minimum 3+ years of practical, full-time experience developing and maintaining applications in an enterprise or commercial environment Strong C++ background in Windows or Linux environment Understanding of object-oriented, multi-threading programming Good to excellent understanding of relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server Desktop development experience using the latest MS technologies, including .NET Framework, WPF, Winforms, GDI, Telerik (asset) Familiarity with other languages/tools (scripting, Python, Go, Git, Azure DevOps, Boost) Web development experience (ASP.Net, Javascript, CSS, HTML5, Kendo) (asset) Familiarity with modern time-series databases, such as noSQL (asset) GNSS or GIS mapping technologies (asset) Skills and Abilities Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to work well independently and within a team environment Highly self-motivated and self-directed, objective oriented Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities.
