The Senior Systems Administrator (Shift) ensures the continuous operations of IT services. As a Senior System Administrator, this role provides proactive monitoring of all production systems 24/7/365. Constantly evaluating alerting trends, the admin looks to identify threats to production availability using current monitoring software, implementing mitigation responses to maintain availability. The Senior System administrator coordinates all facets of incident response. The role delivers professional/technical solutions and services that ensure integrity, availability, scalability, and manageability of all IT systems. The Senior Systems Administrator assists with the analysis of infrastructure, network, and application incidents, applying documented solutions, incident communication, escalate as necessary. The senior admin facilitates post-mortems of major incidents, reporting findings to diverse audiences – technical and managerial. Skills and qualifications, you’ll bring: Using current monitoring software, the Senior admin proactively monitors all systems, on premise, in the cloud, or at remote sites. The admin identifies trends and potential problems, attempting to resolve them before they impact the production environment. The Senior admin is responsible for the configuration and maintenance of department-specific tool sets to provide operational insights for DCO and other stakeholders. The admin is responsible for Incident coordination, communications, and escalation. Resolving technical issues that may impact production systems. Understanding risks and impacts to the business to ensure appropriate communication, escalation, and incident resolution in a timely fashion.Provides core systems operational functions as required on all production systems on a 24/7/365 basis. The admin provides IMAC infrastructure services to other IT groups including “Remote Hands and Eyes” services to support infrastructure trouble shooting.Acts as a generalist across a wide range of IT competencies, completes ongoing training, and imparts knowledge to others. Maintains a solid understanding of production applications, services, and infrastructure. Supports Service Desk calls out of hours. Education and Experience 3-5 years related IT experience; supported by a diploma level certification in a computer-related field; Relevant IT certifications, and experience in automation scripting. (i.e. Jenkins, Ansible, MCSA, CCNA, CISSP, AWS cloud) on Windows, and Linux platforms are an asset;An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Technical Requirements Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting ability;Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills;Strong understanding of the ITIL framework and principles;Knowledge of Enterprise Data Centre Operations and Best Practices;Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills;Strong understanding of network, systems management and cyber security;Demonstrated experience with the following will be considered an asset: ServiceNow, APM, Solarwinds, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, Windows, RedHat Linux, operating systems; VMware ESX, SFTP, CommVault, ITIL, Scripting / orchestration. Understanding of B.C. gaming industry is an asset.
