Senior Project Control Officer

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted November 19, 2020.

Assess and classify projects based on the company strategy and available resources to facilitate prioritization and decision-making for leadership ; Create and share an integrated view of all projects in the portfolio to enable effective measurement of portfolio risk and progress against baseline, prioritization, and focus ; Make recommendations with regards to the planning of resources at the portfolio-level and contribute to the monitoring of project progress, control as well as the dependencies that affect resources, budgets and schedules (project portfolio tracking) ; Provide operational and strategic support for projects throughout the project portfolio management and control lifecycle ; Provide the resources to projects to help them keep the execution on track by actively monitoring completion of necessary deliverables and managing the estimate, the schedule, the scope and the cost schedule for all projects within the portfolio ; Development of project standards, processes and best practices (including budget, scheduling, risk analysis, delivery framework, communication plans, change requests, etc.) ; Ensuring projects adhere to the PMO SDLC framework and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project in the tools available ; Select, implement and train employees on applicable tools and software related to project monitoring and control ; Organize the Portfolio Steering Committee meetings, review the agenda and necessary materials and follow up on actions items ; Control budget requests and communicate up-to-date data for budget calculations ; Prepare and present the consolidated view of the company’s project portfolio for different committees (Steering committee, Board of Directors), as well as ad hoc project and portfolio budgeting and reporting data as requested ; Communicate project expectations/status to team members and project leaders in a timely and clear fashion ; Increase visibility of project risks on individual projects and across the portfolio ; Acts as a liaison person with other departments or teams to exchange information, obtain services or coordinate activities.
