Senior .Net Developer


This is a Contract position in Markham, ON posted November 14, 2022.

As a .NET developer, you will be working with your product feature team to design products with rich user experience. You will be expected to perform the necessary analysis, design, and hands-on development tasks related to the development of an enterprise solution, satisfying our client needs.


  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to conceptualize new products and improve existing solutions

  • Act as senior developer in development projects using industry best practices

  • Prepare high-level sizing and application impact analysis for any new feature requests.

  • Point of contact for any technical issues, questions and challenges that may arise during execution of a project

  • Generate artifacts supporting the SDLC, including high level design and detailed design documents

  • Prepare high level cost sizing and application impact analysis for any new feature requests

  • Coach and mentor junior staff within the IT Group as required

  • Sets high standards for own work and ensure high quality outcomes are achieved

  • Ensures effective work habits including punctuality, responsiveness, and accessibility to others

  • Represents the LifeWorks IT team in client and vendor discussions

  • Observes the corporate values of LifeWorks

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related study or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5 years of software development and related experience utilizing Microsoft technology stack

  • Proficiency in architecting/designing/developing large n-tier business systems for high availability and scalability based on the Microsoft .NET platform.

  • Proficiency in .Net technologies including C#, WCF, MVC, Multithreading, ADO.Net, RESTfull Services, IIS.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server design, development, and troubleshooting and a good understanding of relational database systems

  • Proficiency in web development including Java Script, Angular, JSON, and CSS.

  • Experience in code testing methods (e.g., test/behavior-driven development) and tools (e.g., unit testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Object-Oriented Analysis, Object-Oriented Programming and Design

  • Advanced working knowledge in software development methodologies including design patterns, enterprise integration patterns, systems analysis and design, database design

  • Excellent analytical and problem determination skills

  • Strong communication, organizational and collaboration skills

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
