Senior Manager, Executive and Internal Communications

The opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, the Senior Manager, Executive and Internal Communications will develop and implement strategic global internal communications that drive understanding of our growth strategy across our offices in Toronto, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco and Mumbai.

The Senior Manager, Executive and Internal Communications, will play a central role in conceiving and executing strategic executive communications, including for the CEO. This role requires a top-tier, passionate internal communications professional with excellent strategic planning skills and experience working with and writing for senior executives, ensuring their voice is reflected. The role will also be responsible for other strategic internal communications projects and initiatives as required.

Who you'll work with

  • Members of the Executive Team and a broad group of senior leaders in Investments, People & Culture, Finance, Operations and more

  • Colleagues within Internal Communications and the Brand, Marketing & Communications department

What you'll do

Strategic executive communications:

  • Work closely with members of the Executive team including CEO to develop and execute leading executive communications program in support of desired business outcomes.

  • Draft wide range of executive communications (including memos and speaking remarks/speeches) ensuring clear, concise, consistent messaging.

  • Monitor for, and integrate, standard processes to enhance the impact of communications.

  • Maintain/contribute to a communication schedule to align efforts across the organization.

  • Contribute research and thinking into key global themes of relevance on which executives can speak about.

Internal communications:

  • Contribute communication strategies to drive growth, impact and culture priorities

  • Develop content for a variety of channels, including intranet email announcements and various digital platforms, including video.

  • Measure the impact of communication efforts post-implementation and adjust as necessary.

  • Contribute to implementation of best practice internal communications capabilities in the form of events, digital, written communication channels

  • Actively participate on cross-functional project teams and proactively bring forward new insights.

Respond to research findings:

  • Develop insight from research efforts that allows the organization to stay ahead of employee communications needs.

  • Stay up-to-date on employee communications standard methodologies and use survey results and senior management feedback to fine-tune channels and approach.

What you'll need

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism or a related field or a post-graduate certificate in public relations.

  • 10+ years of dynamic communications experience, with a focus on executive, strategic or internal communications.

  • Ability to see big picture and tailor leadership messaging as needed to different partners.

  • Outstanding writing and editing expertise, ideally with an Investments-industry focus.

  • Confidence and a proven ability to support and counsel senior leaders.

  • Client-focused, motivated, proactive, forward-thinking, organized and diplomatic.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines and demands.

  • Track record of conceiving, developing and implementing strategic internal communication plans.

  • Experience with new technologies and new ways of communicating to a broad employee base (web-based training, new town hall formats, Teams, WebEx, etc.).
