We are seeking a Data Scientist to help us generate insights, guide decisions and inform our interactions with our customers.

Data Scientists will be primarily responsible interpret and solve deep business problems by developing predictive models and analysis that make the best use of the wealth of Customer, Network and Channel information available across Rogers business units, channels and care and marketing platforms.

Collaborate with business primes from Wireless and Residential business to develop a range of predictive models using advanced Machine Learning and AI techniques and make business recommendations to: Manage customer churn Acquire and retain customers Next Best Action/Product Recommendation Increase revenue through cross-sell and up-sell products/services Increase campaign effectiveness Overall Role Requirements: Acts as the prime AI/ML specialist for stakeholders across marketing, IT and business communities Partners with key stakeholders, data scientists, PO and other business owners to ideate opportunities related to data science/ML-based on the emerging business issues and trends Makes recommendations to engagement leads, program owners, and leaders across divisions on strategy and new initiatives, based on in-depth business understanding Supports the recommendations by developing a business case, value model and the expected return on investment.

Informs the best sequence of initiatives for execution and develops roadmaps Manages and owns the initiative/project roadmap throughout the strategy, design, development and deployment stages and shares the progress with key stakeholders Manages /coaches other data scientists in the team Leads plan, design and develop conversations with business stakeholders, and other partners Works with business owners and primes to decompose the business problems into clear analytical goals, hypotheses and expected outcomes Performs data exploration and data discovery to harness data required for experimentation Leads the development of ML/AI solution using advanced techniques to expose actionable insights in an agile setting Documents the model insights, performance and inferences to obtain buy-in from business owners.

Includes guidance on the model application or implementation Perform deep diagnostics on model performance to maintain the health of predictive models and provide recommendations on improving accuracy, reducing errors in ML systems, and apply end-to-end learning, transfer learning, and multi-task learning Collaborates with wider AI/ML community within Rogers to develop reusable solutions, tools and frameworks.

Supports and delivers training for data analytics and AI Skills/Qualifications: Master’s degree or Ph.D.

in a technology/analytical field such as Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or other relevant technology fields A minimum of Eight years of relevant professional experience in an Agile environment with an excellent understanding of the underlying Statistical, Machine Learning theory and Predictive Modeling Lifecycle Expertise in conducting AI/ML interviews, and requirement gathering workshops and critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into use cases Experience working with senior leadership and multiple stake holders to build and evolve ML/AI vision and roadmap is a plus Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Deep expertise in developing and maintaining predictive models using advanced ML/DL techniques.

Proficiency in building Supervised learning models [ (classification and regression)
– tree-based (Random Forest, Stochastic Gradient Boosting and eXtreme Gradient Boosting, Decision Trees, Extra Trees, Regularized Greedy Forests), Generalized Linear Models, Discriminant models (LDA, MDA, FDA and QDA)], and Unsupervised learning models (Isolation Forest, Clustering algorithms) Excellent programming knowledge in any of the languages (SAS, Phyton, R, Spark/Scala) Experience in building Deep neural networks (MLP, CNN, RNN, GRUs, and LSTMs, ) and use of AI/Deep Learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, Theano, CNTK, and Keras is an added advantage Exposure to Reinforcement learning (DynaQ/Q, SARSA, TD, Monte Carlo) is preferred Experience in working with any of industry-standard analytical/ML modern ML platforms like (SAS Viya, Sage Maker Azure ML) Exceptional interpersonal, persuasion, and communication skills to communicate strategic and technical ideas to internal audiences to both inform and solicit buy-in from the end-user community Schedule: Full time Shift: Day Length of Contract: Not Applicable (Regular Position) Work Location: 333 Bloor Street East (012), Toronto, ON Travel Requirements: None Posting Category/Function: Technology & Database Development Requisition ID: 218486 Together, we’ll make more possible, and these six shared values guide and define our work: Our people are at the heart of our success Our customers come first.
