What will your typical day look like?


As a Senior Associate on the Disputes team, you will work collaboratively with a diverse team including forensic accountants, business valuators, lawyers, and data specialists. You will attend client meetings, develop appropriate quantification methodology, build financial models, conduct financial analyses, and participate in rounds of file reviews for a wide range of clients and industries. You will also contribute to project planning and status reporting that fully satisfies clients and delivers project profitability. Your role will also consist of staying up to date on the firm’s best practices, through Deloitte- and self-led learning, and applying these practices to all the files you will be working on. This opportunity will allow you to develop your expertise as a dispute practitioner as well as your reputation as a business advisor while you contribute to the growth and development of the practice.

About the team


Deloitte’s team of forensic professionals specialize in a wide range of business disputes and irregularities, and deliver clear, logical analyses, opinions and reports. We apply a variety of quantitative and qualitative techniques to isolate and analyze alleged damages resulting from business interruption, alleged fraud and corruption, breach of contract, negligence, breach of duty, infringement of intellectual property, and similar circumstances. We quantify real or potential losses, minimize fraud, locate misappropriated funds, and bring about a timely resolution to commercial disputes and financial litigation.
Our dispute consulting team is made up of specialists in valuation, financial analysis, damage quantification, intellectual property, forensic accounting, and computer forensics, all with significant experience assisting clients with contentious matters. 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with:

•    Undergraduate degree in accounting, business administration, economics or a related field;
•    Professional accounting designation preferred (e.g. CPA, CA); 
•    Additional specialization recommended (e.g. DIFA, CFF, CAMS, CFE, CBV) or interest in starting the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (“CICBV”) program in order to eventually obtain the CBV designation;
•    2-5 years of relevant forensic accounting experience;
•    Eligible to receive Government of Canada Security Clearance – Secret II Level;
•    High level of proficiency with all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
•    Experience in consulting or providing external advisory services;
•    Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English, French is required
•    Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, provide accurate analyses, and suggest appropriate solutions;
•    Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving with strong attention to detail;
•    Ability to build mathematical representation of various client scenarios and generate some insights to drive data-driven decision making;
•    Ability to travel in Canada and sometimes abroad (candidates must be able to enter the United States in order to complete engagement work);
•    Thoroughness, rigour, flexibility, humility, integrity and professionalism.
