Remote Access Analyst

Canadian Natural Resources Limited

This is a Contract position in Calgary, AB posted May 23, 2023.

The Opportunity:

Remote Access Analysts are responsible for the maintenance and managing of our Citrix remote access environment. It also includes the design, implementation and day-to-day support of the enterprise desktop environment. This may include any combination of physical and virtual desktops, as well as operating systems, operational support software and the troubleshooting, building, maintaining, and distribution of applications on Remote Access servers and managed desktops.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor for, and respond to, incident and service request tickets
  • Troubleshoot and correct infrastructure incidents and problems; Communicate progress on tickets to customers
  • Prepare change requests for approval to make changes to production environment infrastructure
  • Create, deploy and manage application packages for servers and managed desktops
  • Participate in architecture and design of new or upgraded infrastructure components and solutions; Build, implement and test infrastructure components according to project plans and schedules
  • Participate in project team meetings; Provide project deliverable status reports in a timely fashion
  • Perform proactive maintenance on infrastructure components to minimize incidents
  • Create and update as-built infrastructure documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Update asset records and datacenter documentation as infrastructure moves in, moves out, or changes status
  • Optimize infrastructure performance by monitoring and tuning configurations
  • Ensure supported infrastructure conforms to backup / recovery and availability plans

  • Job location; Calgary, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5X2 – Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day
  • Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A University degree or technical school diploma in a related discipline
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience with Citrix infrastructure and support
  • Microsoft Windows compatible desktop and laptop computers; Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Citrix MS Office and Remedy
  • Available for Wednesday evening and weekend outages; Windows may be required on an ad hoc or scheduled basis
  • Travel from your regular office location to any other Canadian Natural offices or facilities may be required
  • Participation in a scheduled on-call rotation to resolve non-prime time incidents and escalations may be required
