Project Lead Automation


This is a Full-time position in Quebec, QC posted January 6, 2022.


The Systems and Technologies group develops computer equipment, software and systems to meet the needs of manufacturing operations.

This is your chance to be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team and take part in major projects on the cutting edge of Industry 4.0 technology.

Reporting to the Systems and Technologies Manager, the Project Leader will act as an expert to guide the technological choices for automation projects and projects for interfacing with the MES system.

You will plan, organize, coordinate and ensure the execution of your projects, with your direct involvement.

You will work on various projects with teams from factories across the world.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS Contributing to developing and executing automation projects and projects for interfacing equipment and systems Guiding the technological choices and proposing solutions in keeping with industry best practices Managing and supervising subcontracted resources working on projects Acting as an expert on standard equipment used on various sites (such as AGVs) and enforcing standards Planning schedules and tracking project budgets Participating in production support activities and intervening as required to support equipment control Actively working on continuous improvement by identifying problems and providing solutions YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automated production engineering or equivalent experience 5 years of experience in automation and control in a factory setting Advanced knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens an asset) Advanced knowledge of user interface programming Advanced knowledge of SCADA (Ignition an asset) Knowledge of and interest in object-oriented programming Knowledge of robotics and industrial vision systems Keen interest in emerging technology Solid understanding of the interaction between automated systems and IT infrastructure (networks, servers, applications) Excellent problem-solving skills Leadership and project management skills Solid communication skills (oral and written) Bilingualism (English and French) Energetic, responsible and self-sufficient WELCOME TO BRP We’re a world leader in recreational vehicles and boats, creating innovative ways to move on snow, water, asphalt, dirt and even in the air.
