Program Director, Banner 9 Upgrade


This is a Contract position in Burnaby, BC posted July 24, 2019.

Program Director, Banner 9 Upgrade On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Program Director, Banner 9 Upgrade.

The Program Director will manage all aspects of a multi-year business transformation program that will revitalize the digital experience and staff through self-service capabilities.

This includes scoping, planning and implementing (or upgrading) applications and services associated with Banner 9 Self-Service (and related systems), and driving improvement to business processes and results.

The Program Director will direct and coordinate a cross-functional team, manage inter-project dependencies, and oversee change management and communication.

The role will develop and oversee a project charter, plans, schedules, resources, budgets and establish metrics to monitor the quality of deliverables and stakeholder satisfaction.

The incumbent will also work closely with business and technical leadership; serve as an expert resource and mentor to internal staff; and bring forth opportunities to better the business and influence decisions regarding business process changes.

Program Director, Banner 9 Upgrade Job Details: 1 Accountable for the Self-Service program of projects to meet the needs of the Institute.

2 Leads and manages definition of scope, sequencing, scheduling and budgeting of the program plan with input from stakeholders.

3 Establishes the metrics against which program success will be assessed and ensures that the program can deliver benefit to the Institute and that it meets the reasonable expectations of end users.

4 Manages highly complex business issues arising from the implementation of new processes or functions.

5 Manages program scope, risk and issue resolution.

6 Maintains and controls the program budget, schedule and resources.

7 Oversees and coordinates the implementation and/or upgrade of enterprise technical architecture and applications.

8 Oversees change management, business process reengineering and communication efforts.

9 Works closely with the Change Manager to ensure the people side of the program is well managed and stakeholders are engaged, consulted and receive the support they require.

10 Leads program meetings.

11 Responsible for quality of program deliverables.

12 Actively mentors internal staff in program and project management methodologies and approaches.

Program Director, Banner 9 Upgrade Mandatory Skills: 1 Excellent project management skills, with demonstrated track record.

Has recent experience program managing ERP upgrades and/or implementations (Banner preferred) in a large complex business environment.

2 Experience leading business transformation projects, including exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean.

3 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to summarize communications for executive consumption, and has business acumen and experience presenting to senior leaders of organizations.

4 Able to analyze, understand and effectively translate business requirements into technical design and implementation.

Familiarity with business application life cycle management and system development life cycle management as asset.

5 Excellent risk identification, analysis, escalation and mitigation skills.

6 Has experience planning, managing, tracking and reporting on large program-focused budgets.
