Product Owner (Cloud Native Platform)


This is a Contract position in Grande Prairie, AB posted September 18, 2022.

OneSpan is looking for a Product Owner to join our team in Montreal remotely.

We are building our next-generation Cloud Native Platform that will serve as a center of gravity for all our current and future OneSpan applications.

You will actively participate in building decoupled shared services using the latest best practices and providing an ecosystem allowing OneSpan to grow its business.

The Product Owner will work within a cross-functional organization to help building our next-generation Cloud Native Platform Their primary role is to manage the product backlog for software developers in autonomous scrum teams in a global, scalable, evolving Agile development organization.

The product management team you will be a part of works together to create and encourage this culture within our scrum teams where there is no hierarchy.

Working within the scrum teams, the product owners are responsible for driving functional initiatives to realize the product vision of OneSpan in harmony with all our products.

You will therefore have the opportunity to work with leaders throughout the organization and leverage your experience as a software development leader.

Key Areas of Responsibility Communicate with stakeholders across the board, including customers, managers, and the development team to make sure the goals are clear and the vision is aligned with business objectives.

Create and manage the list of backlog items.

Prioritize them based on the overall strategy and business objectives.

Map out dependencies to inform the necessary sequence of development.

Oversee the actual development of the product.

The PO is a key player throughout each event, including planning, refinement, review, and sprint.

Be the first communicator and link between stakeholders and teams.

Take a primary role in inspecting and evaluating product progress through each iteration.

Make the judgment call on the performance, deciding if the team needs to go back to the drawing board or if they can move on to the next steps.

Work closely with the UX team to propose strong product solutions.

Requirements A bachelor’s degree in an IT field or relevant equivalent experience.

5 years of experience as a Product Owner, ideally in a SaaS environment.

Strong knowledge and experience with Agility (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).

Strong experience in developing and delivering SaaS products into a cloud infrastructure.

Strong experience with Continues Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) processes.

Experience with cloud platform development ( security management, identity and access management, observability, etc.) Experience with Domain-Driven Design practices is an asset.

Strong emotional intelligence, including self-awareness and self-management.

Effective communication and time management skills.

Self-motivated, trustworthy and dependable.
