Pink Triangle Press: Senior Front-End Developer

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted February 21, 2021.

Note that the right person for this role will be comfortable working with and around sexually explicit products and material.We’re looking for an experienced Senior Front-End Developer to join Pink Triangle Press, a mission oriented organization supporting LGBTQ2 rights for nearly 50 years, based in downtown Toronto.

Please note that you will be working remotely during the pandemic, until it is safe to return to the office.As part of our Technology team, you will be involved in designing, implementing and testing robust new front-end and backend features, in support of our gay and queer men hook up and dating products.

This role will require strong experience in HTML5/CSS3, ASP .Net MVC, Angular V8, JavaScript, and TypeScript.RESPONSIBILITIES:Developing clean, intuitive, and flexible user interfaces for unique web applications.Implementing efficient, robust, and maintainable features.Supporting, fixing and updating applications already deployed in production environments.End-to-end development of software systems from design through development to deployments and maintenance.Become an integral part of our agile culture by helping to define deliverables and effort, working as part of the team to build consensus around process and development practice improvements.Active participation in all SCRUM ceremonies.Regular communication and feedback with your team and product owner throughout the sprint and development cycle.Provides input to the technology leadership, and the enterprise architecture.Experiment with and evaluate new technologies.QUALIFICATIONS:At least 7 years developing web applications.Strong experience developing responsive web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3 & UI frameworks.Strong experience with JavaScript, and TypeScript.Strong experience with ASP .Net MVC.Experience with Angular 8.Experience with Node.Js, and other modern technologies.Experience developing Microservices and RESTful APIs.Applied knowledge of web and mobile development best practices.Understanding of programming fundamentals and development process and strategies (ie: software development models, database systems, TDD, unit tests, domain driven design, etc.).Excellent communication skills, in English, with the ability to present ideas and solutions clearly.Must be a self-motivated, results oriented, team player, who is open-minded, collaborative, and adaptable.Keen to learn and keep up with new technology.BONUS POINTS:Knowledge of messaging frameworks such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.Familiar with DevOps practices.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for build, test, provision and deployment.Familiar with container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with/knowledge of mobile application development.We’re an awesome organization that makes a difference, works hard, and still knows how to have funOur companyFounded in 1971 to advance the struggle for sexual liberation, Pink Triangle Press is Canada’s leading LGBT digital media organization.
