Network telecommunications analyst


This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted January 14, 2020.

The opportunity: CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a Network Telecommunications Analyst to join the team in Montreal.

This is an opportunity to step into Canada’s oldest and most respected broadcaster as a specialist focused on the implementation, maintenance, upgrade and support of the transport of audio and video across our private WAN; the LAN at all CBC facilities, IP Telephony, Security and Firewalls.

We are looking for someone who wants to step into new challenges supporting cross-country Voice-over-IP infrastructure, managing escalated timelines and have the satisfaction of knowing your role is crucial to a successful media broadcast.

This role will essentially be a balance between Level 3 support and project work.

This opportunity will enable you to be a key player representing Telecommunications on operational projects that will impact the entire corporation such as virtualization; cloud migration; WAN routing and data centres.

You will be one of the first experts in the industry and you will continue to grow and expand your skills.

What you bring: Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

Five years of hands-on experience in implementation, configuration and support of telecommunication network devices, with a background using network protocols, switching and routing expertise, an understanding of IT security and proficiency with Fortinet firewall and management systems.Experience with Voice-over-IP or, hands-on coding experience would be an advantage.Knowledge of, or interest in learning, audio/video routing and TV & Radio Broadcast networks (SMTP 2110).Knowledge of SQL, API, python, C#, VB, and Ansible would be an asset.

Strong and influential verbal and written communication skills in English and French, with the ability to analyze and synthesize information and document technical specifications.

A collaborative approach, where you thrive in a team-focused environment.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers, partners, clients, staff, senior managers and external technological vendors.Strong analytical skills, with an innate ability to think through complex issues and design innovative solutions, as well as digging further into issues, removing roadblocks and presenting solutions for immediate and long term.

Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly, all while staying up to date with industry best practices.

Willingness to be on call 24-7 (including evenings, weekends and holidays) on a rotating basis.
