Network Services Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities Network Services Specialists apply their technical skills in client billable project services to support the design and implementation of next generation and/or modernized networks.

They will use assets and reference architectures, build proof-of concepts, build and execute implementation plans, testing plans and deployment plans with network technology and networking solutions to address client requirements and work with products or solutions based on partner hardware and/or partner software.

Responsibilities Understanding and design of high availability architecture Provide assistance and guidance to architects Provide professional services (Design, Deployment, Troubleshooting, Assessment) Develop and increase technical competency of the team Provide technical leadership/support to IBM (pre)sales teams to develop solutions Experience with different vendor’s equipment and tools Have Leadership responsibility to guide and implement clients’ technical strategy and coach/lead others Have strong and trusted relationships with their clients, understanding their challenges, desired outcomes and business success criteria of the proposed solution.

Have a leadership role within IBM and provide technical leadership, mentoring and governance to other infrastructure SMEs supporting the same client(s).

Keep documents current Review and validate the BOM Create the required artifacts (design document, diagrams, build book, etc) Design and Implement the infrastructure to support the solution Apply best practices Ensure all aspects of security are covered Interact with various teams to gather the required information Work on multiple projects for the same customer Be hands-on NOTE: Location is flexible e.g.

anywhere in Canada Outcomes: Design and implement a secure and compliant network design and infrastructure to process in minimum performance criteria, the network within the Cloud solution, within the Cloud proposal to the client appliance/circuit, and within the extended management systems (multicloud management, monitoring, integration to other system management tools) and within the storage and data residency solutions (for data at rest, live, backup , resiliency, recovery solution components.

Lead hands-on deployment and configuration experience with Security products in the Security partner community such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Crowdstrike and Proofpoint within Medium size Businesses and-or large organizations Architect, design, and capacity plan complex and multi-vendor security solutions including planning and organising your work based on multiple project timelines and priorities Make timely and logical decisions by analysing diverse information streams, evaluating options and formulating recommendations in order to resolve deployment challenges Support sales engineers as well as design engineers during presales phase and participate as required on Proof of Concept and Pilot engagements Ensure timely execution, clear communication of risks, and profitable delivery of solution Provide advice, guidance, and direction by developing repeatable work methods, standards for firewall solutions Technical Experience: Cisco ACI, Cisco SD Access Cisco (CCIE certified) Cisco Meraki & Cisco Meraki Remote Live Tools Network Security Project Experience: Identify, propose and provide merits and risks analysis for solution alternatives to problems Apply creative thinking to recommend actions/improvements/optimisation around technology, process, procedure, design Engaging to trigger communications directly and in timely manner for any urgent communications.

Utilise telephone, direct messaging and email in most effective and timely manner Adopt the agile principles is success for the team/sprint as a whole for the common goal Experienced in work break down structures, designing micro level solutions and documentation, architecture best principles, consulting principles Very diligent record keeping.
