MEP Coordinator – Top Developer

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted March 18, 2023.

A top Canadian multidisciplinary real estate development company is currently looking to add an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator (MEP) to join their team The division of this group has an exclusive focus on luxury condominiums with top of the line amenities, coveted office space in prime locations.

Responsibilities: Working with and being mentored by a Senior Manager, the MEP Coordinator will be responsible for providing information flow to the project team (contracts, shop drawings, contract changes, and progress claims).

This role involves ensuring the project complies with standards, codes, specifications and design instructions, and assisting in the procurement of materials and equipment.

In collaboration with the project manager and superintendent, the MEP Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the overall work of the different mechanical and electrical specialties.

You as a Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator: -Plan, direct and coordinate all on-site mechanical & electrical activities to comply with specifications, requirements and codes -Provide direction during functional performance testing of all mechanical and electrical systems -Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems -Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFI’s and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements -Guide site team in understanding best principles and practices for mechanical/electrical systems Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or equivalent experience combined with pertinent technical training
– 5 years’ experience coordinating M&E work in the construction industry
– Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
– Good knowledge of the local construction market
– Excellent oral and written communication
– Proficient Computer skills, preferably MS Project, MS Office
– Self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills willing to take on new challenges
– Familiar with Elevators in a High Rise Residential projects is a great asset What they have to offer:
