Managing Director, Liquidity Solutions

Address: 100 King Street West Job Family Group: Capital Mrkts Sales & Service Mandate The mandate of the MD Capital Markets Liquidity Solutions is to: Assist and drive deposit growth for BMO Capital Markets Deliver internal training and marketing material on liquidity solutions Create alignment within the Global Transaction Banking and Corporate Banking teams on importance of liquidity and deposit growth Act as a point of contact and sales resource for the Global Transaction Banking and Corporate Banking teams Act as a liaison for Capital Markets with the TPS product and Corporate Treasury team to provide feedback to identify product gaps and insight into the competitive market This leader will: Shape the transformation agenda in Global Transaction and Corporate Banking in an important period of change to optimize and building a stable deposit base for BMO while maintaining our low loan-to-deposit ratio and reduce our reliance on wholesale funding Cross train the Global Transaction Banking and Corporate Banking teams to effectively market broader liquidity solution to clients Help deepen relationships internally and with clients Add valuable liquidity solutions decision-making expertise The Global Transaction Banking team including Liquidity Solutions is strategically critical for BMO Capital Markets, driving client loyalty, delivering accretive returns, and funding future loan growth.

This leader will report to the Head of Global Transaction Banking and form part of the Global Transaction Banking Senior Management team.

Key Accountabilities Business delivery and operational effectiveness: Collaborates with key partners, Global Transaction Banking and Corporate Bankers, TPS product and Corporate Treasury to generate ideas, identify client liquidity solutions, pursue sector marketing efforts and deliver timely solutions Provides high level of expertise for liquidity products to the client.

Drives sales, cross-selling, and service excellence Client and relationship management: Ensures the delivery of exemplary client service including client advocacy on major accounts Identifies and leads sustained cross-selling activity Managerial leadership: Identify gaps, issues, and best practices through monitoring of banker / team performance targets and development plans Build a high performance liquidity solutions culture within and across Global Transaction and Corporate Banking teams Maintain a future-oriented focus, possess organizational, industry and competitive knowledge, and effect business results through innovative practices Outside of Scope The mandate of the MD Liquidity Solutions does not include: Product development across the liquidity solutions spectrum, ie deposit accounts (Treasury accounts, DRR, DDA, MMDA, TDs, CDs), fixed rate maturity, money market funds, and fixed income Corporate Treasury functions including establishing FTP rates Although product development and corporate treasury functions fall outside the mandate, it is expected that this leader would provide feedback to both product and corporate treasury to identify gaps, help drive innovation, and ensure we remain market relevant and competitive.

Qualifications Typically 9 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

An undergraduate degree.

Focal areas of finance, economics, or accounting preferred.

High academic achievement.

CFA or MBA or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting and legal fields.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in investment banking and/or corporate banking, negotiating and structuring financial transactions.

This should include some in a corporate lending environment developing business.

Excellent knowledge of the organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.

Excellent knowledge of the bank’s financial solution products and services.
