Manager Renewable Development

Posting End Date: May 31, 2021 Employee Type: Regular-Full time Union/Non: This is a non-union position We are looking for a Manager Renewable Development to join our growing Power Business Development team This role will handle the identification and advancement of new renewable projects across North America that meet Enbridge’s investment criteria.

Provide project viability assessments through site identification, resource/energy assessments, configurations and constraint analysis.

Working closely with members of the Power BD team the Manager will support the development of projects ahead of construction and operation for review by Senior Management.

The incumbent will have direct experience and demonstrated success in advancing the development of renewable projects including siting, resource assessment, capital cost estimating and regulatory application to support Final Investment Decisions.

We would love to hear from you today What You Will Do: Identify and assess renewable development (Wind / Solar) sites across North America Assess potential greenfield development projects including wind/solar resource, land requirements and limitations, external party considerations, permitting and transmission constraints along with other aspects that make projects viable Provide initial site design, layout, renewable generation estimates, facility capital cost to support the screening and selection of new opportunities Provide due diligence on renewable development and operation acquisition opportunities including site design, layout, renewable generation estimates, facility capital cost to determine project viability Lead the resource monitoring at development sites Develop site layout drawings and maps for both internal and external use Support the financial assessment to allow the Renewable Power team to select the best overall option to advance Support the permitting and regulatory requirements of the Specialist Renewable Projects Support internal / external engineering leads in the development of engineering specifications to be used by SCM, Major Projects and Engineering to engage with external engineering and construction providers Engage with potential Enbridge customers when required to provide an overview of project opportunities Build and maintain a strong presence in the renewable industry Work closely across Power BD to advance both greenfield, M&A and Self-Power opportunities that meet Enbridge’s investment criteria Work closely with Power Operations to ensure developed facilities are aligned to operating and engineering requirements Who You Are: Related degree(s) and associated certifications in Renewable Resource Assessment, Project Development or a related field (Engineering, PMP Designation or Engineering Technology Diploma) 10 years in assessing and progressing early stage greenfield renewable projects in Canada and the United States Experience in assessing wind and solar resource potential at development sites Expertise in utilizing niche software for wind / solar modeling to support project screening and assessments Ability to complete renewable facility layout and mapping optimization Knowledge of renewable facility equipment and ability to assess their performance Experience in presenting project assessments to Senior Leadership Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to handle sophisticated projects and competing priorities Ability to function in a dynamic team environment Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate, lead and run large scale projects among shifting priorities Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to): Grasping, kneeling, light
– moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
