One of our government clients is looking for a Mainframe Architect (MS SQL & Government exp) Length: Contract term is 9 months with a possibility of extension Location: Toronto, ON Role:
– This role will be working on the Driver’s License Photo Comparison Project.

Responsibilities: Provide professional information architecture expertise, and undertake comprehensive architecture needs assessments and complex reviews in support of systems/infrastructure needs for clients (i.e.

I&IT clusters, their clients and enterprise I&IT organizations).

To participate in enterprise-wide and cross-jurisdictional architecture projects with information components.

General Skills:
– Defines, identifies and describes information architectural requirements with clients, and obtains I&IT management approval.

– Develops and obtains approval for detailed plans and resource estimates for large
– scale and complex information architecture projects and/or components of other projects with information architecture elements.

– Ability to complete complex information architecture reviews and assessments, development and/or support projects, to support new and changed enterprise priorities and initiatives, and client clusters’ and their clients’ information architecture and/or business needs.

– Researches, develops, implements and maintains information architectural policies and standards, as approved by management
– Ensures integration with related corporate and client cluster policies and standards, and incorporation of best practices in the industry.

– Provides general and situation-specific information architecture interpretation advice and expertise to other project and/or enterprise level I&IT project teams, client management and staff, cluster clients, and external contractors.

– Leads and or/participates in highly sensitive information architecture investigations.

– Develops information architecture specifications for RFPs and participates in assessing bids and negotiating contracts/SLAs with service providers and vendors
– Demonstrated experience developing checkpoint deliverables and creating necessary artefacts for checkpoints
– Knowledge and experience creating information architecture artefacts such as logical and information data models Desirable Skills:
– Experience with Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools
– Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
– Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards Must Haves:
– 10 Years of Information Architecture Experience
– 10 Years of Solutions Architecture Experience
– Public Sector Architecture Experience Assets:
– Photo Imaging/Photo Comparison project experience Experience and Skill Set Requirements Information Architecture

– 10 years of experience in the development and implementation of applications and databases
– Demonstrated experience providing information architecture interpretation advice and expertise to other project and/or enterprise level I&IT project teams
– Demonstrated experience delivering architectural artefacts as required by the project to successfully pass through the project review governance points.

– Demonstrates previous leadership in complex application architecture reviews and assessments, development and/or support projects for enterprise initiatives Environmental

– 10 years of experience with vendor integrated solutions
– 10 years of experience with platforms such as Mainframe, Midtier, and Mobile
– Experience with operating systems such as Solaris, Windows, AIX, and Android
– Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, IMS, and MySQL
– Experience with programming languages such as Java, C/C++, PL1, Cobol, C#, and JavaScript
– Experience with communications protocols such as ftp, http, smtp, ntp, tcp/ip, udp, and icmp Technical Skills
– 35%
– Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of applications
– Solid experience in cloud design and solution including infrastructure design with cloud subscription
– Solid experience in cloud native architecture including microservice architecture, RESTful API, API management
– Experience in systems analysis and design in a large, integrated systems environments
– Experience in the use of architecture design tools and cloud management tools such as Power Designer, DevOps, and Collaboration tools.
