Lead Business Development and Commercial Agreements Specialist

As a B usiness Development and Commercial Agreements Specialist , you will identify strategic business development opportunities and conduct associated feasibility assessments to optimize the Canadian commercial operations and provide recommendations to management. Main responsibilities Identify strategic business development opportunities and conduct associated feasibility assessments. Propose, develop and analyze renewable fuels and other innovative solutions to meet GHG reduction regulations. Develop and analyze optimization, growth (new customer, new market, new product) and cost reduction projects for Canadian Commercial Operations. Lead economic analyses, 0review financial models and/or simulations associated with these projects and contract reviews with the Supervisor – Wholesale Finance and Pricing. Develop in depth understanding of current and future low carbon regulations to be able to interpret, identify key elements and develop solutions for Valero. Identify and engage with key stakeholders to move projects forward. Review commercial agreements (purchase and sale contracts with other refiners) for current strategic fit, identify improvement areas and develop negotiation strategies in conjunction with the Commercial Agreements and Business Development Manager. Bachelor’s of Engineering (or other pertinent area). 8-10 related experience (Experience in the energy industry would be a considerable asset). Strategic thinker. Leadership and able to influence multiple stakeholders. Adaptable, persistent. Bilingual. Autonomous. Works well under pressure and able to manage multiple complex files simultaneously.
