Java Technical Lead

STIAOS Technologies Inc

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted October 14, 2020.

Quality Matrix is seeking a talented Java Technical Lead to help their B2BB2C clients build out exciting new products and maintain core software platform, which is a combination of web applications, integrated architecture, customized application stacks and a data processinganalytics platform.

The position will require strong technical leadership skills to manage the end-to-end delivery of complex system solutions, establishing and controlling project constraints and scope, manage relationships and communication with all project stakeholders, make sure the team is fully functional and productive, and provide clear ownership for the projects risks and issues.

You will also collaborate with internal partners to anticipate challenges, mitigate risks, and track and monitor trends to proactively solve problems.

Your expertise will play a critical role in providing the exceptional service that clients expects.

Manages a team responsible for the design, development, testing, integration, maintenance, documentation, sustaining, and support of software.

Analyses and investigates applications engineering tasks, and prepares design specifications, analysis, and recommendations.

Participating in SCRUM team activities and following agile patterns and methodology.

Interacts with Onshore Tech Leads, Product Owners to define application requirements.

Collaborates with partners to resolve any roadblocks for product delivery.

Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.

Manages the hiring, staffing, and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce.

Required EducationExperience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience 12 years of experience developing, supporting, or implementing Java technologies and integrations 10 years of experience with JPA, Hibernate, Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Data, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Core, Reactive Spring, Spring Cloud, Spring Data Integration and Microservices 10 years of experience with RESTful Web Services, writing consuming REST API 10 years of experience with tools like Maven, Git, and SVN, GIT, Junit, Jenkins, Sonar Experience with AWS and cloud services Experience with Kafka, streaming, multithreading, and data structures.

Experience working on Docker containers.

Experience with automated build and deployment strategies.

5 years of experience leading projects in software development and agile methodologies.

Well versed with Agile Methodologies, more so with at least 2 years of experience Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

Time management skills and the drive to work with limited supervision within a small team 10 years of experience in software development of which at least 2 years should be team management experience.

Strong experience in design, system design, design patterns, product design and advanced project and people management skills.

Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to engineering teams and to be able to evaluate complex project risks and issues and deliver program commitments on time meeting program quality criteria accurately and objectively.
