– 5G RAN Layer 2 DU Canada-Remote The Software Development Team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as an Intermediate Software Developer on our 5G DU Development Team in Canada What you’ll achieve We’re excited to announce that we’re continuing to build our new 5G wireless O-RAN team from scratch and we’re looking for talented embedded software developers to take part.

The Distributed Unit (DU) team has multiple openings for key roles in a new high-powered Ottawa R&D team.

If you enjoy working on a new product, new software, new team, deep desire to learn and collaborate with others, then we want to hear from you.

You will: Implement and test key Layer 2 features, algorithms and integrate them with the CU and RU and other features in the DU working in a LEAN Agile environment, implementing features in C++.

Work with other team members and software architects to determine the high level and detailed designs of the DU components.

Be part of a scrum team responsible for the continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) of the DU components and fix defects in a timely manner.

Identify, develop, execute, monitor and maintain automated tests.

Here’s what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements Good knowledge of RAN software architecture and design.

Solid knowledge and experience in C/C++ programming with good knowledge of Python/scripting languages.

Ability to be organized, goal-oriented, a self-starter, with a team focused mentality with a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

Desire to be part of a collaborative cutting edge team where everybody in the scrum team owns the deliverables and quality.

Typically requires 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar field; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Desirable Requirements Good understanding of wireless technologies and standards, preferably in 5G, O-RAN, LTE; and RAN Layer 2 – RLC, MAC, Scheduler, and L1 interfaces.

Experience working on carrier grade telecommunications products.

Experience with Wireshark, gdb, GIT, Netconf YANG and the Atlassian toolset.
