Intermediate Back-end Software Developer


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted November 17, 2020.

Alteo is looking for a Intermediate Back
– End SoftwareDevelopper for a contract or permanent position based in Montreal.

– Database creation, integration, and management.

– Develop back-end frameworks to build server-side software.

– Knowledge of web server technologies.

– Cloud computing integration (AWS and/or Azure).

– Server-side programming languages.

– Content management system development, deployment, and maintenance.

– API integration.

– Conform with the security practices.

– Reporting—generating analytics and statistics.

– Backup and restore technologies for a website’s files and DB.

– Collaborate with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.

– Participate in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.

– Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency.

– Maintain updated knowledge of the development industry and advancements in technology.

– BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field.

– 5 years of experience in a back-end development role.

– Portfolio or samples of past work and projects.

– Proven experience as a .NET Developer or Application Developer.

– Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns.

– Familiarity with Node.js framework and server-side applications.

– Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g.

C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3.

– Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC).

– Familiarity with Unity Engine a plus.

– Experience with JavaScript (Vue.JS), CSS and jQuery a plus.

– Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools.

– Familiarity with browser testing and debugging.

– Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with designers, developers, and other relevant staff members or clients.

– Comfortable in a start-up environment.

– Excellent analytical and multitasking skills.

– An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

– Flexibility to adapt to changing instructions and requirements.

– Willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.

– Ideally Bilingual (English and French written)
