FWS Business Analyst, Clinical System


This is a Contract position in Burnaby, BC posted July 6, 2019.

FWS Business Analyst, Clinical System On behalf of our client in the Healthcare industry, Procom Consultants Group is currently searching for a FWS Business Analyst, Clinical System.

FWS Business Analyst, Clinical System Job Description: Reporting to the Clinical Informatics Advisor, the FWS Clinical/Business Analyst will leverage exceptional analytical skills and knowledge of clinical workflows and procedures to support clinical readiness, change readiness and business transition activities required to deliver a positive user experience and successful implementation of FWS.

Activities may occur at the stakeholders’ place of business.

Core activities: Support readiness activities including clinical and business impact assessment, stakeholder analysis, workflow analysis, solution analysis and regular sponsor meetings to support Windows 10 / enterprise VDI readiness.

Liaise with clinical stakeholders, SMEs (e.g.

Clinical Informatics, Professional Practice) and technical teams to evaluate and implement appropriate technical solutions in clinical environment ensuring clinical focused design.

Facilitate stakeholder meetings / working groups (inclusive of agenda, minutes, presentations and other meeting materials).

Review, understand, document and analyze existing clinical and business workflows and procedures, and translate user clinical and business requirements into technical requirements for the Windows 10 application readiness and technical solutioning teams.

Gather and document, requirements, current and future state process / workflow maps, gap analysis and risk and opportunities.

Develop business, use and test cases and assess change impact specific to various clinical settings (Acute, Ambulatory, Residential, Community, etc.).

Support Change Leads with change management and communication activities incl.

user communication and engagement documentation to ensure deployment readiness and successful adoption of Windows 10 and VDI technologies.

Ensure clinical alignment / standardization across Health Authorities and sites, where possible.

Ensure CST alignment activities such as Caradigm (tap-and-go).

Support user experience activities, i.e.

clinical lockdown account transition to Windows 10 or desktop standardization for Windows 10.

Draft reports, briefing notes, business cases and other supportive documentation for higher level management, including documentation to support governance (i.e.

Business / Clinical Working Group).

Provide issue escalation and resolution to resolve incidents, i.e.

during Windows 10 rollout, if required.

Other activities: Contribute to business engagement and status meetings.

Contribute to project status, actions and issue / risk management activities.

Contribute to stakeholder analysis documentation in collaboration with Change Leads.

Liaise and coordinate with other project stream leads and associated stakeholders to ensure alignment.

Contribute subject matter expertise to future iterations of the FWS business case.

Maintain effective and regular communication with all stakeholders (i.e.

Site Sponsors, IMITS Communications, Clinical/Change teams, FWS Program Director, FWS Technical teams, Workspace Technology Services team and other project streams) on all related matters.

Provide support to the FWS Program Director (e.g.

strategy, plan, schedule, reporting and risk/issues) to ensure FWS’s ability to meet required timelines and deliverables, as well as issue escalation and resolution.

Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.

Work in collaboration with FWS business / clinical readiness team, FWS technical solutioning team and Workplace Technology & Services sustainment team to integrate and align planning, solutioning and readiness activities for VDI and Win 10.

Recommend actions to increase solution value.

Other BA duties as required.

Core Deliverables: Business Requirements Documentation Clinical workflow / process documentation (Acute, Residential, Community, Other) User requirements, test cases, use cases, business cases etc.

to support Windows 10 and/or Enterprise VDI deployments.

Other reports, briefing notes and communication materials as directed.

Meeting minutes, engagement and action item logs.

FWS Business Analyst, Clinical System Mandatory Skills: Critical Business Analyst skillset: Intermediate business analysis skills with proven knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques.

Experience in business and preferably clinical process mapping and development.

Analytical and broad-based technical knowledge / skills; with ability to think through details and tactics without losing sight of overall strategic goals.

Problem-solving and critical thinking incl.

ability to determine and assess options and recommend solutions.

Intermediate-level business documentation / writing skills, preferably within an IT focused project.

Client engagement / interpersonal skills and ability to effectively facilitate discussions with a diverse group of stakeholders, users, etc.

Intermediate-level ability to translate clinical, process and technical problems, as well as business outcome and benefits, using business / layman terms.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Experience working in a clinical environment is strongly preferred (ideally more than two years of experience): Recent related experience working with managers, clinicians, physicians, and clerical staff in a clinical Health Authority setting (e.g.

Acute, Ambulatory, Residential, and Community).

Working knowledge of hospital / clinical system, care delivery processes, clinical roles, policies and procedures, preferably gained in the VCH, PHC or PHSA environment.

Background/experience (not limited to): Health/Clinical Informatics, Professional Practice, Health Information Management, Clinical Education (e.g.


Other skillset: Ability to adapt to evolving technology requirements as they are introduced during the project, and applying these into a clinical context to meet user requirements.

Ability to extract information and knowledge from complex sources.

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment – proven organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Desirable skillset: Experience working within PHSA and with BC Health Authorities References (supervisor level) will be requested and checked for all past BC Health Authority experience (within last 5 years) Successful experience working on a technical implementation project.

Prior experience with Change Management, Modeling and Requirements Management techniques and tools.

Business Analysis (e.g.

IIBA), Project Management (e.g.
