Full Stack Developer

In the team of programmers in Retirement and Financial Solutions at Lifeworks, the successful candidate will participate in the development and maintenance of a suite of automated work tools and will be responsible for the design of custom reports via SQL. He/she will have several daily responsibilities that are urgent and require a high level of attention to detail. He/she will interact directly with other Lifeworks staff to complete projects and ensure customer and user satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Fully understand the business objectives of each assigned project

  • Design, develop, and maintain software in C#

  • Understand the overall database structure and the interaction of data tables in order to work accurately with SQL jobs and report queries

  • Support and maintenance of a web portal

  • Perform code review and apply good programming practices

  • Take responsibility for quality for each deliverable and ensure seamless integration with the production environment

Qualifications :

  • Degree in computer science, management information system or related field from an accredited college or university

  • A degree in mathematics, statistics or actuarial science from an accredited college or university would be an asset

Knowledge/skills :

  • Proficiency in architecting/designing/developing large n-tier business systems for high availability and scalability based on the Microsoft .NET platform.

  • Proficiency in .Net technologies including C#, ASP.NET ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET WEB API, HTML, CSS, WCF, MVC, Multithreading, ADO.Net, RESTful Services, IIS.

  • Knowledge of Visual Studio

  • Version Control – Git, TFS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL server design (including TSQL), development and troubleshooting and a good understanding of relational database systems

  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Object Oriented Analysis, Object Oriented Programming and Design

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key contacts

  • Demonstrated skills in clear and effective professional communication, both written and oral

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet high quality control standards

  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritization and follow-up skills, with a strong commitment to being a team player and meeting customer needs

  • Ability to solve complex problems to meet deadlines for deliverables

  • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency, resourcefulness, responsibility, and accountability

Nice to have:

  • Web development with Angular, JSON, Java Script

  • Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

  • Bilingual (French and English)
