Full Stack Developer – Data

The opportunity This is a unique opportunity, where you’ll match developer and creative skills with data science.

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer who will build a data analytics platform from the ground up.

It’s a rare chance to create a data platform that will generate insights used to make strategic decisions.

This is an opportunity for a Full Stack Developer who can interpret UI/UX wireframes, create an inventory of assets for development and translate visual mock-ups into live code.

We need a team member who thrives in ambiguity and is passionate about researching and innovating solutions to sophisticated data display, modelling and integrity challenges.

This is a chance to focus on long-term goals, including: Applying data visualization and service design principles along with continuous improvement methods to develop and refine a presentation layer optimized for user experience.

Designing and implementing product features in collaboration with various stakeholders Translating algorithmic models and analysis into visualizations that are easily understandable by non-technical members of the organization What’s in it for you C utting edge tech.

You will dive into defining the requirements for a scalable front end data presentation layer, taking ownership for evaluating the benefits of an in-house build versus a third-party tool.

You will optimize existing data pipelines for visualization.

You will work closely with a collaborative team of product managers, developers, designers and data scientists to bridge the gap between design and implementation.

You will be translating art into science and will take an active role in defining how the platform looks and works.

Our Digital department at CBC recognizes just how smart, creative and inventive our team members are.

From prototyping new UI/UX to setting up dev environments to experiment on and learning new programming languages.

What you bring: An understanding of front end design principles.

You can implement business requirements through multiple phases of front end focused design to intuitive usage and optimal visualization.

You have extensive experience selecting and using modern tools to define and build an interface
– or implement a 3rd party solution
– that can effectively gather, structure and process data from multiple sources, at scale.

Familiarity with end-to-end data science application development is a plus.

The education and the technical expertise.

A Computer Science or Engineering degree is preferred, but we know not everyone gains their development skills this way.

With a minimum 2 years of development experience, you have an in-depth understanding of software development principles, practices, and concepts.

You are highly proficient with: Experience with Python, Javascript and React.js.

Proficiency in software development and agile practices.

Experience with data visualization tools and data visualization libraries.

Experience integrating API endpoints, as well as an understanding of the entire application flow (from the data layer to the UI).

Preferred: Knowledge of Data Visualization/UX best practices and data modelling.

Preferred: Cloud deployment experience; preference for Google Cloud Services stack.
