Frontend Developer

Flyscan Systems Inc

This is a Contract position in Quebec, QC posted November 17, 2020.

Flyscan is looking for a “Full Stack” software developer with a strong experience toward the frontend side to help building an aerial visual inspection system that automates the detection and the reporting of objects that pose threats to Pipeline.

You as a developer will be called upon to develop the pilot’s Web based user interface that allows interacting with the inhouse backend subsystems.

– BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field.

– 5 years of experience in a frontend development role.

– Comfortable in a start-up environment.

– Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with its colleagues.

– Capable of tracking and reporting on his work.

– Willingness to deliver reliable code and to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.

– Ideally Bilingual (English and French).

– Not afraid to fly in airplanes and helicopters.

– Collaborate with the other team members to design functional and cohesive software components.

– Present mock-ups for UX related to: o Configuring and monitoring in real time the system status.

o Showing in real time on a moving map.

 The location of the airplane.

 The detected threats.

 The needed course/altitude corrections.

 The flight track of the airplane.

– Design, develop and maintain the frontend’s code, test, simulation and content deployment.

– Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of the backend.

– Participate in the integration, testing of the system and the AI retraining activities.

Knowledge required
– Languages: HTML5, Javascript, Python 3.x
– Highly adopted frameworks like Angular and Bootstrap
– Exchange format: Json, XML
– REST API debugging tools like Postman.

– Interacting with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite.

– Source control: Git.

– Leaflet JavaScript library and its plugin ecosystem
– KML, GeoJSON and Shapefile file formats
– JavaScript PDF generation libraries
– Knowledge of the GIS domain
