Frontend developer


This is a Full-time position in Kitchener, ON posted January 14, 2020.

Frontend Developer The product development team at Bridgit is growing again.

We’re looking for an experienced developer who loves learning and building things with JavaScript to join our team.

You’ll design and build robust systems that scale and, most importantly, make our customers happy.Joining us as an experienced developer you’ll be designing, experimenting, testing, and building new solutions and extending existing ones.

We’ve got a lot of big plans and you’ll be participating in their execution from day one.

You’ll be working on Bridgit Bench which:Runs on AWSIs made up of services made with C# (.NET Core), Go, and Node.jsHas both REST and Graphql APIsRuns in Kubernetes on infrastructure managed as code with TerraformIs continually deployed to production via automated CI/CD pipelines The team We work as an integrated product development team.

Designers, developers, and testers work together with no silos or artificial barriers.

We work in one week iterative sprints and endeavor to ensure the team understands the why of any work they’re doing in addition to the what.

On Wednesdays the team is encouraged to work from where they feel most productive and meetings are disallowed.

We are also piloting a “4-hour Friday” work schedule.

We value our time and reject the notion that life should take a back seat to work.

OUR setup Developers get a choice of a Mac or Linux laptop (Dell XPS or new 16” MBP); you choose whichever you feel will make you most productive and happy.

Quite a few of us use Windows or MacOS at home and feel no shame about it.

We’re happily 100% cloud-hosted with nothing on-prem, and nothing in a co-lo.

We’re going to keep it that way but how, where, and what are open for discussion.

Qualifications Experience building quality software with deep knowledge of JS (and, ideally React)A desire to teach and learn from your peersExperience developing and shipping SaaSExperience developing and debugging single page web applications (SPAs)Exposure to/interest in building and maintaining distributed systems (services, microservices)You know how to make the CSS and HTML behave and maybe even bend to your willA desire to stay up to date on current technologies and development methodsA degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or ample practical experienceWe recognize many of the skills we’ve developed over our careers are often transferable.
