AISESPosition Description:We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team to support and enhance our delivered systems.

The engineer will maintain software delivered to our Aeronautical Information Systems (AIS) customers, both civil and military, to meet their current AIS needs and to fulfill ICAO/Eurocontrol requirements.

Successfully solving problems will involve hard work, a passion for quality, an inquisitive mind with the ability to work with the customer.Responsibilities:As a software engineer, you will have the opportunity to establish ownership and demonstrate your abilities in all phases of the software life-cycle, including:Creating software solutions that are attractive to our customers and are cost-effectiveModifying code, testing, debugging and documenting high quality software applicationsParticipating in integration, acceptance testing, and deployment of software applicationsAssisting in troubleshooting problems in a software production environmentFollowing established development processes and corporate technical and quality standardsGeneral requirements:A University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in the AIS domain is a big plus, but not required – a keen interest in learning about it isThe ability to work within a large organization and understand dependencies and stakeholder needsSelf-motivated, with ability to work under minimal supervisionThe ability to work closely with customersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTechnical requirements some combination of:Experience in software development, integration and testProficiency in different software languages including C and C++.

Some experiece in Java would be advantageous.Experience with web servers and email servers implementationExperience with Perl, SQL, TCP/IPExperience with HMI, MS Windows application developmentExperience with HP Nonstop servers is a plus, but not requiredExperience with database design, development and implementationKnowledge of Aeronautical Information systems (e.g., NOTAM, Briefing, ATS Messages, Flight Planning)Comments/Special Considerations:The ability to obtain a security clearance is required for this position.Willing to travel to customer sitesCompetitive Compensation and Benefits PackageMDA provides competitive compensation and benefits packages for its employees at its many locations.
