Now they’re looking for you: their new Embedded Developer to join the team.    What you’ll be doing: As the new Embedded Developer, you will be reporting directly to the Director  of Software Engineering and independently performing complex engineering assignments while following company and/or industry standards and methods. Practically speaking, you will:* Develop new products and sustain engineering on existing products (independently, in a team, or with multiple teams)* Plan projects to meet requirements, de-risk projects through planning and analysis, identify solutions to complex requirements, execute and modify plans during development* Integrate work from multiple teams into final products, Investigate and debug issues across complex application stacks* Track and manage multiple competing projects* Plan for security concerns and code defenses into products* Maintain and extend multiple suites of software products, maintain shared code, refactor newly identified common concerns for reuse when appropriate The Details This is a full-time permanent position. The ideal candidate will be based in the Whitby location.This position offers a competitive annual salary in a range of $110-130K, a performance bonus up to 10%, and excellent benefits, including health insurance, health spending accounting, up to 4% matching retirement contributions, personal days, and vacation time.This position may require infrequent travel within North America and Internationally.  What you’ll bring  * Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combined with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience * 5+ years of relevant professional experience    * Expert level with modern C/C++ development* Experience with Linux operating system* Experience with Embedded processor* Excellent analytical and empirical problem-solving abilities And these are some nice to haves:* Some proficiency or exposure to Go and Python* Experience with MPEG2 TS, DVB, ATSC* Experience with DASH, HLS, MSS* Experience with Gstreamer and FFmpeg* Experience working with Openembedded/Yocto* Experience with Multicast, VLANs, routing Your Application We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.
