DevOps Lead


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted November 17, 2021.

Rogers is seeking an energetic and results oriented DevOps Lead to join Partner Systems IT domain.

This role will include working with both business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, shape designs and carry out development and support within the application domain.

This position requires creativity and innovation, strong communication skills, and collaboration with various cross-functional teams across Rogers.

– Work closely with internal business partners to gather requirements, design and implement solutions, working closely with product vendors.

– Participate in design discussions focused on scalability and implementation of best practices.

– Develop, Configure and perform ongoing maintenance of applications in Fraud, Settlement, Network Inventory and IFRS domain.

– Provide production support on a rotational basis.

– Develop solutions based on business requirements, coding and unit testing and support QA team during functional and regression testing.

– Resolve issues on a timely basis and support business partners.

– Work closely with cross functional teams and make sure that the data integrity is maintained.

– Participate in vendor product assessment.

– Analyzes complex system problems with ease and offers alternative business solutions for system enhancements and production issues
– Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting stakeholder expectations.

– Work with vendor resources to deliver an end to end solution to the business needs.

– Collaborate with multiple teams both upstream and downstream for development and issue resolution
– Understands the business processes, how the application flow works and applies this knowledge to best solve the problems
– Design, manage, and maintain DevOps pipelines, services and components to enable accelerated delivery of solutions and services
– Create and support automation and continuous integration & deployment methodology and problem solving across platform and application domains
– Keen interest in learning opportunities and a continuous improvement mindset to adapt quickly to the team dynamics.

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Computer Engineering
– Excellent Communication, Analytical and interpersonal skills
– Ability to take ownership on the deliverables and work well under pressure.

– 5 years experience in software development and support activities with solid knowledge on the technologies listed below.

– Extensive experience in Java, Unix Shell Scripting, SQL, PL/SQL scripts, helm charts
– Technical expertise working in Linux/Unix and Database (Oracle, SQL Server) platforms.

– Knowledge of Web Logic server, Bootstrap, REST Services, Spring Framework and Mobile App development (iOS & Android)
– Knowledge of Azure Kubernetes, Azure SQL MI, Docker, Microservices platform and supporting automation, version control, and overall security of a CI/CD pipeline
– Knowledge of Azure Cloud platform, DevOps and cloud ETL tools will be an advantage.

– Proficient in technologies and processes like Agile Software Delivery, SDLC process, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

– Competent in enterprise application delivery and design techniques, including release and source code branching strategies.

– Experience in using Jira and Confluence tools.

– Telecom industry knowledge is an asset.
