Desktop Software Analyst, New Grad

Canadian Natural Resources Limited

This is a Contract position in Calgary, AB posted January 19, 2023.

The Opportunity:

We are actively seeking one New Graduate for our Infrastructure Support Team.

The Desktop Software Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance for delivering a secure Enterprise desktop solution to over 21,000 physical and virtual PCs and workstations. They are also responsible for the packaging and deployment of over 2400 business applications.

The Desktop Software Analyst will troubleshoot and resolve complex, third level support issues associated with application software and operating systems of all physical and virtual PCs, workstations. This also includes support and maintenance for all related infrastructure servers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Enterprise Desktop/Workstation Management (physical and virtual), including OS image creation, patching and Group Policy Management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems
  • Create, deploy and manage application packages for servers and managed desktops
  • Participate in the architecture and design of new or upgraded infrastructure components and solutions
  • Build, implement and test infrastructure components according to project plans and schedules
  • Perform sustainment activities on infrastructure components
  • Create and update as-built infrastructure documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Automate various tasks to assist with daily activities

Other Details:

  • Job location; Calgary, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5×2 – Monday to Friday – 8 hours/day
  • Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma in Information Technology or related
  • Up to 1+ years of Desktop and/or Application support experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of Windows operating systems (Windows 10), Active Directory, and Group Policy is an asset
  • Other Assets:
    • Knowledge in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
    • Knowledge with Endpoint Management Solutions (SCCM, Tanium) Application packaging and virtualization (Master Packager, App-V, FSLogix)
    • Scripting skills is an asset (powershell, python)
