The Employee Enablement – Technology Services – Endpoint Services team is responsible for Operations and Maintenance solutions for a variety of technology products related to Desktop/Laptop/Workstation management across TD’s enterprise.

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr Desktop Engineer (IT Build Specialist) with strong experience in SCCM to join our team. This role will be focused on ensuring the readiness of our managed desktop banking centre environment for Windows 10 Semi-Annual channel updates. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working with SCCM and extensive knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 operating systems. They will also have advanced PowerShell writing skills, be proficient in SQL, and have experience with Group Policy Objects (GPOs). As a Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for providing level 3 operational support to resolve technology-related incidents, applying concepts, best practices, and procedures relative to end-user technologies, and taking overall responsibility for the health and well-being of the managed desktop banking centre environment, including proactive reporting, troubleshooting and resolving end-user impacting issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the readiness of the managed desktop banking centre environment for Windows 10 Semi-Annual channel updates.
  • Manage and maintain the configuration baselines for our desktop environment using SCCM.
  • Develop and deploy software packages, patches, and updates using SCCM.
  • Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to manage and deploy software packages, patches, and updates.
  • Provide level 3 operational support to resolve technology-related incidents.
  • Apply concepts, best practices, and procedures relative to end-user technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SCCM related issues.
  • Provide technical support to end-users for SCCM related issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to SCCM infrastructure and processes.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies related to SCCM and related technologies.
  • Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs.
  • Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Work with Service Designers and Architecture teams to provide input into the future state roadmaps and architecture.
  • Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals.
  • Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
  • Lead and mentor team members to ensure they meet project objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with SCCM.
  • Advanced PowerShell writing skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
  • Experience with Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Hybrid work environment- 2 days per week in office would be ideal but there is flexibility on this requirement.
