Job type: This is a remote, part-time consulting position.

About the role The ideal candidate will have knowledge of SQL, python, machine learning concepts, cost analysis, data visualizations, and data/financial storytelling.

This role requires one to be an eager collaborator and problem solver who is willing to jump quickly into analysis when new needs arise.

Role Scope: We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to apply a variety of approaches to effectively integrate and analyze microbiome, clinical and other omics data to identify biological pathways.

Apply existing and novel algorithms to multi-omic data sets, Visualize, summarize, and present results to stakeholders across the organization Requirements for the role: Master’s degree with 4-5 years of experience or PhD with 2-3 years of experience: in Statistics, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology, or related quantitative fields (computer science, statistics, etc.) Familiar with Quantitative structure-activity relationship or other computational modeling methods for revealing relationships between structural properties of chemical compounds and biological activities Familiar with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

Proficiency with parametric and non-parametric statistical models and tests (e.g., linear/mixed linear/logistic regression, Fisher’s exact test, etc.) Experience with bioinformatics and statistical data analysis packages in R and Python (e.g., ape, vegan, MASS, lme4, DESeq2, limma, ggplot2, matplotlib, scipy, statsmodels, pandas) Excellent interpersonal communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills; excellent team player Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
