The primary focus of the Data Engineer is to lead local management and organization of data to enhance the capabilities and performance of the Analytics team (descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive) with a view to developing pipelines and tools.

Proactively provides and also collaborates with business partners on new data sets that may assist in addressing business questions, and where applicable, implements ingestion of these into the data environment.

Leads data strategies and process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Key Tasks: Build or unify different aspects of complex data systems, taking into account functional and non-functional requirements of the end­ user.

Create and maintain optimal data pipelines from multiple sources, including Global data warehouse
– collect raw, unstructured data from any number of different sources to enable analytics.

Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘Big Data’ technologies.

Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing machine learning models using innovative and automated frameworks.

Investigate and provide recommendations on new data sources, new features and where applicable, adding to Global data warehouse system and connecting for local analyses.

Identify, design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Collaborate closely with IT counterparts, Product teams and Global Data team to support their infrastructure needs, data related issues to ensure Analytics are adequately supported and roadmap is aligned with partners WHO YOU ARE Your success will be driven by your demonstrations of our LIFE values.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possess the following: Bachelor’s (Masters preferred) level in the field of Computer Science 5 years of experience in Data Warehousing/Data Lake and Business Intelligence (preferably working with CRM and IQVIA data) 5 years of experience with object oriented scripting languages: (eg: Python, Spark, Scala) 5 years experience in variety of data platforms such as: Teradata, DB2 (Cloud based DB plus).

Strong experience in SQL.

5 years experience in applying Advanced Analytics or Business Intelligence environment (preferably working with CRM and IQVIA data).

Exposure to Pharma data is preferable.

3 years experience in Experience with AWS (such as: S3, Snowflake, Athena) Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers (e.g.

Wholesalers, PSP Providers, Twitter) and a good understanding of AutoML Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields Ability to work in cross functional teams (Agile knowledge is an asset) Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects, be highly organized able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment.
