Why is this role important?

Position: Analyst (COOP), People Analytics, Data Insights & Analytics The People Analytics team uses advanced data analytic techniques to understand, improve, and optimize the people side of business.

They are responsible for aligning HR actions to business outcomes, measure employee wellbeing, helping HR making improved hiring decisions by predicting the success of a potential hire and analyzing workforce needs in the future.

People analytics team takes massive amounts of data being generated before, during and after the recruiting process and turns it into actionable information.

What You’ll Do: Responsible for the extraction and analysis of complex information from a variety of databases and data sources.

Support initiatives to make HR and business partners more self-sufficient.

Act as a gatekeeper with regards to security and confidentiality of data obtained through all sources.

Extract and prepare variety of structural and non-structural data for analysis using SQL Support the development and operations of data products working collaboratively with HR colleagues, People Analytics team.

Strictly adhere to legal and compliance guidelines; regarding access and exposure to sensitive and confidential information Design and build interactive and static data visualizations to provide actionable insights and enable strategic business decisions through data and insights driven storytelling Build statistical, descriptive and predictive models to support experimentation that are easily understood and replicated Support the gathering and documentation of such processes Ideal Experience and/or Capabilities: Knowledge of predictive and machine learning modelling including pattern recognition, organizational network analytics and text mining: NLP, NLU, etc.

Programming skills with SQL, Python and PySpark Work with NoSQL, Alteryx, Qlik and Graph databases Previous experience in cloud environment such as GCP, Azure, and Databricks Superb analytical, conceptual thinking, storytelling and consulting skills; to not only manipulate but also derive meaningful and actionable interpretations from data Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders in writing and in person Ability to multi-task, and prioritize workload Detail orientation is essential in this role A team player and self-starter Advanced MS Office skills (Power Point, Excel, Word) How You’ll Succeed: At Loblaw, we seek great people to continually strengthen our culture.
