The timeline to reopen is still under consideration, as are our future remote working policies.Job DescriptionThe Business Intelligence Data & Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and integrations between corporate systems at Central 1.

In this role, you will be an expert in using Microsoft SSIS packages to move data into the data warehouse and use SSIS to transform the raw data into data marts to meet business stakeholders’ data discovery and analytic needs.To succeed, you will need real-world experience building business intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Integration Services, and Tableau.What you’ll be doing:Work with business and IT stakeholders to translate their business needs into business intelligence solutions Design, model and create data marts, views, and BI semantic layers Develop and maintain SSIS ETL jobs into the data warehouse and datamarts Develop and maintain Tableau Bridge & Tableau data sources tosupport reporting analytics Dive deep into data by leveraging SQL, Tableau, and Excel Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality Participate in building a modern approach to Data Warehousing and the BI Platform to support self-service data discovery and analytics Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes Maintains and owns Architectural documentation pertaining to the platform.

Performs other duties as required to deliver exceptional service and to support Central’s business goals QualificationsWhat you’ll bring:University degree in computer science (or equivalent) and 5 years relevant experience in a large-scale IT environment.Technical knowledgeDemonstrated experience using SSIS to design, develop and maintain ETL jobs and integration processes Experience with relational DBMS (MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres) is required Experience in data modeling, designing and documenting database schemas, both dimensional and relational, and data warehousing techniques, along with big data concepts is required Proven ability to identify, analyze, investigate and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets Experience with Tableau and similar business intelligence analytic tools is required Understands source control and build management and the use of standard deployment tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence is required Strong scripting and development experience with Python, R, C#, Java, or Javascript is required Experience using APIs as part of data pipelines is an asset Good understanding of Windows and Linux/Unix Operating Systems Experience in networks and firewalls – skillful ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Snowflake AWS RedShift, and/or AWS Athena is an asset Soft SkillsAbility to communicate and facilitate ideas with developers and business stakeholders in both written and spoken form.

Ability to collaborate with various business stakeholders to address their data and information needs.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
