This is a role for someone who likes to build end-to-end systems, take on whatever responsibilities are available and work hand-in-hand with the business team.Duties will include:Lead the implementation of clean and responsive Front-End codeDeveloping new UI components, while building reusable code and librariesResearch & analysis, architecture & design, prototyping, testing and deployment of quality softwareMentoring and coaching team members in Front-End technologiesDevelop software solutions by collaborating with clients (internal & external) to understandbusiness needs and problemsCreating and maintaining software development best practices and standards, including accessibility and performanceEstablishing and maintaining open and appropriate communication with R& D staff and managementAssist in enhancing existing systems and the development of productsAdditional duties as required Knowledge/Experience/Skills: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering3 years of experience building successful production software systems in a senior roleReact JavaScript Front-End framework, JSX, TypeScript, Next.Js, ReduxExpert in responsive web design and creating and maintaining web applicationsMentoring and coaching team members in Front-End technologiesCreating and maintaining software development best practices and standards, including accessibility and performanceExperience with designing and consuming REST APIsExperience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade offsAbility to be productive and task oriented in a fast paced, high volume work environmentDemonstrated problem solving and analytical skillsExperience working in an agile environmentPrior insurance industry experience is an assetNice to have:Java, Kotlin, MySQL, Spring Boot, HTML5, Maven, Hibernate, Git/Github, AWS, TeamCity At Canada Protection Plan we are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment where all employees and customers feel valued, respected and supported.
