This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted October 26, 2021.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST

Job Responsibilities

  • Hand on experience on Data Warehousing Data Analyst 
  • Work with the Product Owner to ensure that the business requirements are clearly articulated and understood by the whole team, PO UX Design Developer Tester Solution Designer Scrum Master 
  • Understanding story dependencies across Product Teams and have on going dialogue with the other Product Team Business Analysts 
  • Work alongside the Product Owner to continually redefine and groom the product backlog and ensure there are enough stories play ready for the next sprint 
  • Maintaining the product team artefacts and documentation to ensure rapid on going deliveries and to support other teams understanding of the domain 
  • Supporting the scrum team throughout the sprints as well as show and tells at the end of the sprints 
  • Regularly interacts with Product Owner User Experience Creative Designer Developers Testers Solution Designer Change Manager Scrum Master 
  • Outcomes Outputs Attending participating in and facilitating where required daily stand ups retrospectives look ahead and other agile ceremonies 
  • Managing the backlog eg raising stories and epics on JIRA 
  • Working closely with the product owner to understand requirements 
  • Facilitating story sessions 
  • Writing acceptance criteria 
  • Working closely with developers and testers to ensure they understand the story 
  • Facilitating story pointing scoring sessions 
  • Outlining the definition of ready definition of done for each story 
  • Ensuring stories are Play Ready and coordinating with other scrum team members external stakeholders to ensure all definition of ready items are complete before sprint start 
  • Understanding dependencies between stories 
  • Having a clear understanding of the solution design and feeding into this if required 
  • Facilitating discussions on scope and minimum viable product 
  • Acting as an advisory role regarding backlog prioritization and the best order in which to play stories 
  • Liaising with other project teams to raise stories on their backlogs 
  • Acting as a mediator between stakeholders 
  • Act as a leader and point of contact for questions from the internal scrum team and external stakeholders 
  • Supporting sprint activities not just pre sprint activities e g point of contact when defects are found developers need further clarification of an acceptance criteria etc 
  • Involvement in demos and business sign off 
  • Ensuring documentation e g screenshots business rules are captured in 
  • Confluence so that current functionality is easily understood and future changes can be implemented 
  • Operational impacts i e organizational design training work processes 
  • Insurance domain experience is preferable
