Business Improvement Manager

Business Improvement Manager

· Role is based in Kitimat, BC About the role We are looking for a Business Improvement Manager to identify the business full potential, support strategic cultural changes and lead a team of Black Belts and other Business Improvement professionals.

This team will support the business to achieve full potential through the identification and delivery improvement projects, and support the effective and efficient operation of the business.

This role is a great opportunity to join a highly capable leadership team and manage the business improvement functions.

Reporting to the Operations Director, your objective will be to establish an improvement pathway and support productive and efficient operations delivery by:
· Accountable for the safety standards and people performance across your area
· Facilitating the identification and definition of business improvement projects.

· Implementing measures to assess performance and sustainability of improvement benefits.

· Performing periodic assessments of current business processes, risks and controls to identify and recommend options for improvement.

· Identifying, designing and implement sustainable and mature business processes that are compatible with the complexity of our organization.

· Coaching, training and developing in the areas of strategic and operational business process improvement.

· Applying disciplined governance and quality assurance across business improvement projects.

About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
· Strong safety mindset
· Ability to analyse data to present improvement opportunities with business metrics to report results.

· Strong experience in coaching and change management.

· Demonstrated achievements in implementing organizational improvements in business processes and operations using improvement methodologies such as six sigma and lean manufacturing.

· Experience in risk assessment, asset management and value improvement.

· Bachelor’s or higher education in Engineering or Finance
· More than 10 years of operational experience with previous exposure to business improvement projects and management.

· Extensive experience in a similar role in the processing industries, heavy industry, natural resources, mining or aluminum sector.

It will also be beneficial if you have:
· MBA or Lean Six Sigma certification Where you will be working Rio Tinto’s BC Works is a part of the Atlantic Operations of the Aluminium product group.
